My daughter Ranisa and I spotted a scarlet tanager near the beginning of Indian Head trail where it intersects Pumphouse road on 6-5-04. We were out hanging up directional balloons for the EJ Noble Hospital fund-raising party that we had at the house that evening. I saw a tanager on Pumphouse road last summer as well; I think it may have been snacking on caterpillars because it was plucking something off the ground and there were zillions of caterpillars there.
